Scripture (the Bible) is the very word of God designed to reveal the character of God, the plan of God and the invitation to join God in the story he is writing. Our creed from the 30 Core Competencies is “I believe the Bible is the Word of God and has the right to command my belief and action.” But often the Bible is treated as just another religious source for spiritual inspiration and guidance. More often than not this is because people don’t understand how the Bible came to us (inspiration) or whether is can be trusted (reliability). And as a result they don’t engage the Bible in a meaningful way (study) or submit themselves to it’s teaching (authority). This series is designed to instill confidence in the Scripture by helping people understand it’s origin and reliability and to inspire people to engage the Scripture through study and meditation which will lead them allow Scripture to be their guide and source of authority in all matters of faith and practice.
