5:16 Disciples

Our “Eyes Wide Open” series has kicked off and the excitement is building.  It’s been great to talk to people about what it means to be a 5:16 disciple of Christ and feel like we are speaking a common language that moves us forward.  To be a 5:16 disciple starts with who we want to become—to become like Jesus.  Someone once said:

“Many succeed momentarily by what they know;

Some succeed temporarily by what they do; but

Few succeed permanently by what they are.”

As a 5:16 disciple, it becomes all about reflecting who we are in Christ.  To let the light of Christ shine through us is to be a reflection of the life of Christ in us.  That reflection shines brightest when we truly begin to think like Jesus,feel like Jesus and do what Jesus did.  I know…It’s daunting!  The cool thing about the journey is—It’s one step at a time.
